New Recruit’s Diary: Week 2, Day 4

Updated: Sep 30

Today marked another step forward in our journey with the Air Training Corps (ATC). Here’s a breakdown of the evening’s activities:

We started the evening with drill progression, which is becoming more familiar by the day. The focus was on refining our movements, ensuring that we were sharper and more in sync as an intake. It’s amazing to see how quickly the team is coming together.

A brief meet-and-greet session with our Squadron Padre, Ben. This was a nice moment to step back from the drill and get to know one of the key figures in our squadron. Padre Ben shared a few words of encouragement, emphasising the importance of fellowship and supporting each other on this journey.

After the break, we moved into the classroom for a session on the Air Training Corps, led by our OC (Officer Commanding). This lesson provided a deeper understanding of the ATC’s history, values, and the opportunities it offers. It was a great chance for us to ask questions and get excited about what’s to come in the weeks ahead.

By the end of the evening, it felt like another productive day. We’re progressing well, and the mix of physical training, personal reflection with Padre Ben, and learning more about the ATC has made the journey even more enriching.
