The recruits arrive at 1900 for another important training session. After a quick briefing on the evening’s schedule, they prepare for the first key task of the night—a recap of the Code of Conduct.
At 1915, the recruits gather to revisit the Code of Conduct that was previously introduced. The NCOs guide them through the core principles of respect, discipline, and teamwork, emphasizing the role of personal accountability and their responsibilities as cadets. During this session, recruits are encouraged to ask questions or share any reflections on the Code of Conduct to ensure they fully understand its importance.
Once reviewed, the Drill period. The NCOs begin by incorporating the values discussed into practical drill exercises. As recruits practice marching, saluting, and other basic drill movements, they are reminded that drill is not just about physical coordination, but also about embodying the discipline and unity expected by the Code of Conduct.
The NCOs take this time to assess each recruit’s progress since Week 1, providing tailored feedback to help them refine their techniques. T
At 2000, recruits take a well-earned break, giving them time to reflect on their drill progress and discuss any lingering questions about the Code of Conduct with their peers and NCOs. And a well-earned snack from the tuck shop.
After the break, the recruits reconvene at 2015 for a critical session on Health and Safety, led by the Officer Commanding (OC). Safety is an integral part of squadron life, and recruits are guided through the necessary protocols to ensure they are equipped to handle any situation responsibly.
The OC covers key topics such as fire safety, first aid, and emergency procedures. Recruits are shown evacuation routes, and the importance of identifying and reporting hazards is emphasized. The session also touches on the safe handling of equipment they will encounter during their training. This detailed walkthrough ensures that every recruit feels confident and secure in the squadron environment, knowing how to act in the case of an emergency.
At 2100, the day winds down with a final debrief and reflection session. The recruits review the day’s activities, discussing the Code of Conduct, their Drill progress, and what they’ve learned during the Health and Safety briefing. This is a time for any final questions or feedback, ensuring that all recruits leave with a clear understanding of their performance and the squadron’s expectations.
The session ends at 2115, and the recruits are dismissed for the evening. With another productive session behind them, they move forward more disciplined, informed, and prepared for the challenges ahead. Week 2, Day 3 has further solidified their knowledge of the squadron’s standards and continued their journey toward becoming fully integrated squadron members.
