Today marked a significant milestone for our new recruits with the arrival of the long-awaited blue uniform. In the background, our dedicated stockroom team worked tirelessly to ensure each recruit's uniform was sized correctly, type, and a quality-checked uniform.
A massive thank you to CI Scarbro, D and CI Millard, E, for their hard work and commitment to making this transition smooth and efficient. Their attention to detail and organisation were invaluable, ensuring our new recruits looked sharp and ready for their upcoming parade.
While uniforms were being arranged, the recruits were focused on drill practice for their passing out parade. It’s clear that everyone is putting in the hard work to make a lasting impression when they officially join 863 (Thurston) Squadron as cadets.
After the drill, our OC took the recruits through an informative session about the Royal Air Force as a modern fighting force. The recruits learned about the specialized roles within the Ministry of Defence and gained insights into the unique skill sets and careers available within the RAF.
This was an inspiring opportunity for everyone, providing a look into the careers and capabilities that await those who dedicate themselves to serving in the forces.
As we edge closer to the passing out parade, it’s wonderful to see the recruits’ pride and dedication in every step of their journey. The sense of unity and achievement is tangible, and we can’t wait to see them take their next steps as fully uniformed members of our squadron.
