Recruits a New Dawn

After months of preparation, 863 (Thurston) Squadron proudly welcomed our potential new recruits to our annual Recruits Night. We had a really good showing of 20 plus, with both parents and recruits engaged throughout the evening.

Prepping tuck for the new recruits

The first half of the night began with a presentation showcasing the activities and opportunities that both the RAF Air Cadets and 863 Squadron offer. Parents and recruits also had the chance to meet our Civilian Committee (CivCom) and a few members of our Recruit Training Team, who ran a short FAQ session to give a cadet’s perspective.

While parents diligently filled out application forms during the second half, our new intake was able to get stuck in with a squadron activity, Hockey, giving them a real taste of the fun, teamwork, and energy at the heart of what we do.

All in all, it was a fantastic evening and a brilliant start for our latest group of future cadets.
